‘Arsenal have confirmed’: Fabrizio Romano reveals what Edu has now told West Ham about Declan Rice deal

The ongoing saga involving Declan Rice continues as Arsenal and Manchester City compete for the talented English midfielder. Fabrizio Romano, a reliable source for transfer news, has provided the latest updates on the situation.

It is widely known that Arsenal considers Rice their top transfer priority, while Manchester City is also interested in signing him, particularly after Ilkay Gundogan’s expected departure to Barcelona.

The competition between the two clubs to secure Rice’s signature is intensifying, and Romano has now shared the details of Arsenal’s plan for the deal, which they have reportedly communicated to West Ham.

Arsenal have told West Ham they will bid again for Declan Rice

Since the beginning of this year, Declan Rice has been the primary target for Arsenal. The Gunners had a strong campaign in the Premier League last season and came close to winning the title, but their lack of squad depth ultimately hindered their progress.

Acquiring a player of Rice’s caliber would significantly enhance their squad and potentially propel them to the next level. However, Arsenal has been unable to meet West Ham’s demands, making it challenging to secure the deal.

Arsenal has already made two bids for Rice, but both have been turned down by West Ham. According to Romano, the renowned sporting director Edu Gaspar is leading Arsenal’s efforts, and they have reportedly communicated to West Ham that they will present a fresh offer for their captain in the near future.

Romano tweeted: “Arsenal have confirmed to West Ham their plan to submit one more bid for Declan Rice — after £75m plus £15m rejected.

“Understand Manchester City are also preparing their official bid — plan has not changed. Structure of deal/payment terms, key for West Ham.”

The current situation represents a crucial moment for Arsenal. When Manchester City enters the race to sign a top player, they often emerge as the successful party.

Their financial resources surpass those of most other clubs, and the combination of having Pep Guardiola as their manager and recent treble success makes them an immensely appealing destination.

Nevertheless, Arsenal has made significant strides over the past two seasons. Mikel Arteta has elevated the team to a new level, and almost every player who has worked under him has experienced notable improvements in their performances.

Declan Rice faces a challenging decision. If he opts to join Arsenal, it could potentially result in another intense title race in the upcoming season.
