Callum Hudson-Odoi agrees personal terms with Fulham

Callum Hudson-Odoi is intensifying his efforts to depart from Chelsea, as he is said to have reached an agreement on personal terms with Fulham.

This summer, the winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi, is expected to depart from Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea has been prolonging his sale as they aim to maximize his transfer fee.

Recently, the club turned down an offer from local rivals Fulham for the player, as there are also other Premier League and Serie A teams expressing interest in signing him.

Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest have been unable to pursue a move due to the high asking price. Meanwhile, Lazio has joined the competition for his signature, but Maurizio Sarri’s team is seeking a loan deal with an obligation to buy in the future.

Consequently, Mauricio Pochettino might find himself compelled to accept whatever Fulham offers next if they wish to secure an upfront transfer fee for the 22-year-old player.

According to the Evening Standard, the transfer is nearing completion, as Hudson-Odoi, who currently earns a salary exceeding £120,000 per week, has already reached an agreement on personal terms with his potential future team.

In preparation for a possible move, Hudson-Odoi has been training with the U21s to maintain his fitness. In contrast, other Chelsea players who are not part of the first-team plans, such as Romelu Lukaku, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, and Hakim Ziyech, have been training separately at Cobham.

Initially hailed as the promising star for both his club and country, the three-capped England international has faced setbacks in the form of injuries and a decline in performance ever since he made his breakthrough into Chelsea’s senior squad in 2018.

Last season, the player went on loan to Bayer Leverkusen with the hope of revitalizing his career, but unfortunately, he only managed to score one goal and provide one assist in 21 appearances.

Eager to make a fresh start, he is determined to join Fulham, especially after their manager, Marco Silva, demonstrated his loyalty to the club by rejecting a £40 million offer to coach Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

The west London club is eager to build on their commendable 10th place finish in the previous season and is nearing the completion of three new signings: Raul Jimenez from Wolves, Mohammed Salisu from Southampton, and Calvin Bassey from Ajax.

The total cost for these three acquisitions will be slightly over £30 million. However, Fulham might face the prospect of losing their star striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic. Reports suggest that Mitrovic has informed his relatives that he will no longer play for the club after they set an asking price that prevented his desired move to Al-Ahli.
