In the next twenty-four hours, Arsenal will announce two signings, with one already confirmed and the other to be revealed shortly.

The Gunners have spent more than £200 million on Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Kai Havertz, who all made their debuts in the 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Despite the start of the new season, there are still several weeks left in the summer transfer window. On Saturday, Marquinhos’ loan move to Nantes was confirmed.

The Brazil international was close to completing a temporary transfer to Olympiacos before the French club scuttled the agreement.

David Raya’s loan signing from Brentford is expected to be disclosed in the coming days, following the confirmation of this transfer.

His agent, Jaume Munell, has posted an Instagram photo of himself in front of the Arsenal insignia at London Colney, which all but confirms the transfer.

Following the victory against Nottingham Forest, the Spain international was subsequently observed walking through the neutral zone.

Kieran Tierney’s departure stance

Arsenal are willing to let defender Kieran Tierney depart in the summer, with the club insisting on a permanent transfer rather than a loan.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Sociedad has been insistent on a loan transfer for the Scotland international.

It was also noted that he was left off the squad to face Nottingham Forest in anticipation of his departure from Arsenal in the coming weeks.

Newcastle and Celtic are also interested in Tierney, but neither appears likely to meet Arsenal’s £30 million asking price.

Mikel Arteta’s previous comments on Tierney demonstrated the club’s transfer position, but it now appears that stance has changed.

“He is, he is in our plans, and as you said, he came on really well (on Saturday),” Arteta stated ahead of the pre-season friendly against Barcelona.

“It’s not the first time, every time he’s played in pre-season, he’s been really good. This is why we want to create competition in the team, raise the level of each individual and that’s going to be a huge benefit for the team to get to another level.”

Message of Kudus

After beginning Ajax’s Eredivisie opener against Heracles Almelo, Mohammed Kudus sent a transfer message to Arsenal, Chelsea, and Brighton.

A €40 million (£34 million) agreement is in place for him to join Brighton, but the move has been delayed after Kudus scored the game-winning goal to put Ajax ahead 2-1. The victory was sealed by a late brace from Steven Bergwijn.

The Dutch giants dominated the game, but it was Kudus’s adept composure that led to the breakthrough. The 23-year-old responded to a deep cross at the far post with an exquisite first touch before placing a precise finish into the far corner.

After the contest, Ajax’s manager Maurice Steijn provided an update on Kudus. As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, he said, “I have read numerous reports about Kudus this week.” However, there is currently no indication that he will leave.
