Jordan Henderson: Liverpool move completed after £120m deal agreed – sources

According to sources at Football Insider, Jordan Henderson has undergone a medical examination for Al Ettifaq, a Saudi Arabian team, as he concludes a momentous transfer from Liverpool worth an astounding total of £120 million.

The 33-year-old captain of Anfield has reached an agreement on a three-year contract with the Saudi club, which will see his weekly earnings rise to an impressive £700,000, totaling over £36 million annually.

Additionally, Liverpool has accepted a bid of £12 million for Henderson, effectively bringing his illustrious 12-year career at Anfield to a close.

On Friday, Henderson underwent his medical examination in Manchester, and now he is eagerly awaiting the completion of paperwork to finalize the deal. The arrangement is for him to join Gerrard’s team at their pre-season training camp in Croatia next week.

On July 14th, Football Insider reported exclusively that there was a significant development in negotiations over a deal, and during this time, Henderson expressed to Liverpool his desire to depart.

Despite already losing two midfielders earlier in the summer and undergoing a substantial rebuilding process, Liverpool is now faced with the prospect of losing their captain, who has served the club for almost eight years.

Henderson assumed the captain’s armband from Steven Gerrard, who was on the verge of becoming the team’s manager, when Gerrard departed Anfield in 2015.

Throughout his tenure as captain, Henderson has led the team to triumphs in various competitions, including the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup.
