Jose Mourinho wants to bring Armando Broja to Roma and Blues respond

Armando Broja continues to recuperate from a lengthy knee injury.

Roma has contacted Chelsea regarding the possibility of loaning out striker Armando Broja, but the Blues have no interest in releasing the player.

The 21-year-old has been sidelined since the end of 2022 due to a severe knee injury, but he is approaching the end of his rehabilitation and could return to action next month.

Given that he has been out of action for so long and is still not fit, it is somewhat surprising that Roma would want him on a short-term contract, but according to Sky Sport, the Italians have contacted Chelsea about the possibility of loaning the Albanian.

The Serie A club has been rebuffed by Chelsea, who are eager to keep Broja, particularly since Christopher Nkunku has suffered a knee injury that could keep him out until December.

AC Milan is also interested in signing the talented forward, but they will receive the same response as Roma if they make a move.

New Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino has limited options for the central striker position, as summer signing Nicolas Jackson started Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool in their Premier League opener.

Jose Mourinho desired to introduce another Chelsea forward to Roma, having already done so with Tammy Abraham.

Romelu Lukaku is still at the club but is expected to depart before the transfer window closes, while the other forwards available to Mauricio Pochettino are more adept on the flanks or in deeper positions.

Jackson played the complete 90 minutes against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge and was lively, but missed a particularly good opportunity.
