Liverpool confirms another departure as Roméo Lavia outlines transfer stance ahead of ‘final’ bid

Roméo Lavia ‘confirms’ transfer stance

According to reports, Roméo Lavia has communicated his desire to join Liverpool, while the Reds are gearing up to present their last offer.

Southampton has turned down two previous bids for the midfielder, and the latest improved offer of $52 million (£41 million/€48 million) has also been rejected, as reported by The Athletic.

Southampton is reportedly holding out for a package worth approximately $64 million (£50 million/€58 million). However, Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that Liverpool is preparing a third and final bid of $51 million (£40 million/€46 million) plus additional payments based on performance (add-ons).

Lavia has apparently communicated his desire to join Liverpool to Southampton, and now the player’s camp is awaiting the arrival of the final offer.

Southampton boss Russell Martin has stated that he expects Lavia to play in the Saints’ opening Championship game against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday. However, he also admitted uncertainty regarding whether Lavia will remain at the club by the end of the transfer window, as reported by the ECHO.

Max Woltman leaves Liverpool

The club has officially announced that Max Woltman, who has been with Liverpool since the age of seven, is leaving to join Oxford United on a permanent transfer.

The 19-year-old striker is moving to the League One side in exchange for an undisclosed fee. During his time at Liverpool, Woltman made two senior appearances, coming off the bench in a Champions League match against AC Milan in December 2021 and starting in the FA Cup third-round victory over Shrewsbury Town the following month.

Additionally, he demonstrated his potential by scoring four goals at youth level for Liverpool last season and gaining valuable experience with 14 appearances while on loan at Doncaster Rovers.

Speaking about his move, Woltman told Oxford’s website: “I was made to feel part of things very quickly. This is a very talented squad and the coaches have been first class with me. I like the set-up, like the way they want to play the game, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
