According to reports from Football Transfers, there is news of Manchester United‘s interest in acquiring the services of Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The head coach of United, Erik ten Hag, has expressed personal interest in having the Argentinian goalkeeper as a part of his team not just for the upcoming season but also for the future.

The report suggests that Ten Hag also aims to pair Martinez with his compatriot and fellow Argentina international, Lisandro Martinez, who plays as a defender. The coach believes that their existing connection from playing together for the national team would be advantageous for United’s defense in the forthcoming season.

According to Football Transfers, it has been reported that Emiliano Martinez, the former Arsenal goalkeeper who currently plays for Aston Villa, is eager to depart from Villa and join a club that competes in the UEFA Champions League.

The report states that Martinez has expressed his desire to leave the club to manager Unai Emery, and Emery is willing to sanction his departure on the condition that Aston Villa can find a suitable replacement for him.

Could Manchester United sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa?

Manchester United potentially acquiring Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window is a possibility, but there could be complications involved.

Given Manchester United’s stature as one of the biggest clubs in England, a move to Old Trafford would undoubtedly be enticing for the Argentina international.

Moreover, we believe that Aston Villa would likely be open to Martinez’s departure if they receive a good offer from Manchester United.

However, it remains uncertain whether the Red Devils will actually make a bid for Martinez.

In addition to Martinez, Manchester United is actively pursuing Andre Onana from Inter Milan.

Furthermore, they still have David de Gea, who is currently a free agent but is in ongoing contract negotiations with the club.

It seems unlikely that Manchester United would be willing or able to sign Martinez and Onana while also retaining De Gea on their roster for the upcoming season and beyond
