Benjamin Pavard has been designated as the ideal substitute for Harry Maguire.

Erik ten Hag has also shortlisted Jean-Clair Todibo and Edmond Tapsoba.

Manchester United has inquired about Bayern Munich’s French defender Benjamin Pavard, who is valued at £30 million, as they seek to replace Harry Maguire.

United have also spoken with Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo and Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba. Pavard is eager to transfer, and United have also contacted Todibo and Tapsoba.

West Ham and Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle on Maguire’s transfer for £30 million, though the player’s personal terms have yet to be negotiated.

Pavard has been designated by United as the ideal replacement for their former captain.

The Frenchman’s contract at the Allianz Arena has one year remaining, and he has no plans to secure an extension.

West Ham and Manchester United have reached a tentative agreement for the transfer of Maguire for £30 million.

With the addition of Kim Min-jae from Napoli in July, Pavard will face fierce competition for a starting position with Thomas Tuchel’s squad next season.

Erik ten Hag highly values his versatility as he seeks to bolster the depth of his defense.

The 27-year-old joined Bayern in January 2019 for £30 million from Stuttgart.

Over the span of four seasons, he has played 162 games for the Bavarian giants in all competitions.

He has also earned 49 caps for France and was a member of the 2018 World Cup-winning squad.

Todibo and Tapsoba are the other candidates on Ten Hag’s list.

Edmond Tapsoba is on Erik ten Hag’s shortlist, but Bayer Leverkusen’s £43 million price tag could be problematic.

The 23-year-old Jean-Clair Todibo is significantly less expensive than Tapsoba, with a price tag of £25 million.

In 2021, Tapsoba’s transfer to Old Trafford was briefly rumored.

Spurs backed out of a deal for the 24-year-old, prompting United to rekindle their pursuit.

Since his transfer from Vitoria de Guimaraes in 2020, he has played over 100 times for the Bundesliga club and was named to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Tournament Team of the Tournament.

However, the cash-strapped Red Devils may be unable to afford his asking price. The center-back is worth £43 million to Bayer Leverkusen.

Todibo has been linked with a move to United throughout the entire summer, but now that Maguire appears to be leaving, their interest has intensified.

United may have discussed a possible transfer with the player’s sibling and representatives.

It is believed that the 23-year-old is available for significantly less than Tapsoba, with a reported asking price of around £25 million.
