Manchester United Reportedly Reaches a Conclusion Regarding Mason Greenwood’s Release as the Forward Nears a Comeback

After conducting an investigation, Manchester United has reportedly decided whether Mason Greenwood will remain at the club.

According to reports, Manchester United are in the concluding stages of negotiations with Mason Greenwood after deciding not to release the 21-year-old.

Before making an announcement about Greenwood’s future at Old Trafford, the Red Devils reportedly have one final agreement to reach.

According to The Sun, Greenwood has increased his training in preparation for a return to football and will remain a United player, putting an end to rumors of a possible release.

The No. 11 will either join Erik ten Hag’s squad or spend the 2023/24 season on loan, according to ten Hag and his team’s support.

A Sun source reported:

“Mason is working harder than ever on the training pitch.

“He’s desperate to return to the side as soon as possible and wants to put the last 18 months behind him.

“Talks about his future are in the final phase, and the players and the manager are behind him.

“The only thing that remains to be decided is whether he returns to first-team action or goes out on a season-long loan.”

Man United have concluded their investigation into Mason Greenwood.

This week, Greenwood was observed increasing his shooting practice on a training pitch alongside his father and coach, Andrew, and his newborn daughter.

According to the report, United coaches sent him to the exercises to monitor his progress following an 18-month suspension.

Since his arrest in January of last year and subsequent charges of attempted rape, assault, and controlling and coercive behavior, Greenwood has not played for United.

In February, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges against Greenwood, prompting talk of his return to action.

Discussions between the Old Trafford hierarchy are approaching a conclusion, and it is hoped that an announcement will be made before Monday’s Premier League opener against Wolves.

This week, Mason Greenwood was filmed training.

Greenwood is reluctant to migrate after his partner gave birth last month, according to The Sun, which adds that he would prefer to remain in Manchester.

Plans are reportedly in place for the young forward’s return to Carrington, where he has not trained since his detention.

“There’s talk of buddying him up with teammates so he has a support network around him. They want to ease him back gently and don’t want him isolated,” another Sun source stated.

Ten Hag would likely embrace additional attacking firepower in the coming weeks as he waits for Rasmus Hojlund and Anthony Martial to recover from their respective injuries. Hojlund cost £72 million, while Martial cost £18 million.
