Mauricio Pochettino just did something with Chelsea that hasn’t happened in 12 years

Mauricio Pochettino must be delighted with the progress he has witnessed since becoming the manager of Chelsea.

Despite leading a very young Blues squad, he took them to the United States to participate in the Premier League Summer Series tournament, where all five other teams had performed better in the league the previous season.

The team’s achievement in winning the tournament, defeating Brighton and Fulham, and securing a tough draw against Newcastle United (a Champions League team) is undoubtedly an impressive feat that should leave them and their manager impressed.

Between these three notable fixtures, Chelsea started with a victory against Wrexham to kick things off, and recently had a draw against Borussia Dortmund in Chicago.

Mauricio Pochettino goes unbeaten

In the match against the Bundesliga side, the manager fielded a strong team right from the beginning, indicating his potential lineup for the Premier League opener against Liverpool next weekend.

Although confidence might have been a bit low at the beginning of the pre-season tour, the manager’s accomplishments this summer are noteworthy, as they mark a feat not achieved at the club since 2011.

Under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea remained unbeaten in all of the fixtures he took charge of. This achievement stands out as both Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte couldn’t manage to accomplish this during their tenures at the club.

Although the opposition faced during the pre-season might not match the standard they will encounter in the domestic season, it still provides a solid foundation to build upon.

The club has further reasons to be pleased with their achievements, especially considering their disappointing performance in the previous campaign, where they finished 12th in the league. Pochettino’s impact has helped them rebound and set a more positive tone for the upcoming season.
