Mauricio Pochettino Opposes Neymar’s Potential Move to Chelsea

The Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has no interest in signing the Brazilian international Neymar, who is 31 years old.

Evening Standard reports that Mauricio Pochettino does not intend to reunite with Neymar at Chelsea.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the 31-year-old Brazilian international, who is available for transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the former Spurs manager does not want him in his ranks.

The two had previously worked together at PSG, and a reunion was likely.

Pochettino, however, believes that a transfer for the Brazil international is not financially feasible. In addition, he doubts that the 31-year-old has the proper profile for the type of football he desires to play at Chelsea.

The Blues are interested in signing youthful players with tremendous potential. Moreover, Neymar does not suit the club’s project.

The sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley appear uninterested in the 31-year-old as they work closely with Pochettino to sign players who suit the project.

Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017 for a world-record transfer fee.

The 31-year-old was brought in to assist them win the Champions League, but he has thus far fallen short of expectations.

Although he has remarkable statistics while playing for the French club, he has been injured at crucial points in the season throughout the years.

During the previous season, he missed a number of games due to injury.

The former Barcelona star appeared in only 29 games for a total of less than 2400 minutes on the field. Despite this, he managed to contribute to 35 goals.

He scored eighteen goals and added seventeen assists.

While he still has two years remaining on his contract with PSG, the club is prepared to let him go.

They are willing to accept a bid between £60 million and £70 million for the 31-year-old player.

Even the participant is eager for a fresh obstacle.

Although he would prefer to return to Barcelona, a transfer to the Catalan giants is unlikely given their financial predicament and the project led by Xavi.
