Rayan Cherki signs, Dusan Vlahovic transfer: Mauricio Pochettino’s dream Chelsea attack revealed

Chelsea is experiencing a flurry of activity in the summer transfer window as the new season approaches. Several players have already left the club, generating over £200 million in sales.

Mason Mount and Kai Havertz, for instance, departed for significant fees to join Manchester United and Arsenal respectively. With many first-team players already gone, Chelsea’s focus is now on acquiring new signings.

Negotiations with Moises Caicedo are ongoing as both Chelsea and Brighton attempt to reach a lucrative agreement for the Ecuadorian international.

Additionally, Chelsea is actively searching for attacking options, particularly an attacking midfielder and a striker, due to the departures of key players. While Rayan Cherki from Lyon is a more advanced target, Dusan Vlahovic is also under consideration.

According to sources at football.london, Chelsea’s interest in Rayan Cherki has intensified, and they are seriously considering making an official offer to Lyon.

The club holds great admiration for the 19-year-old and has engaged in discussions with his representatives to negotiate personal terms. Although Lyon is keen on retaining their prized talent, they have not completely ruled out the option of selling him during this transfer window.

Chelsea is currently assessing the circumstances to determine their next move and is mindful of Lyon’s financial difficulties.

Chelsea is also showing interest in Dusan Vlahovic during this summer transfer period. The future of the Serbian international at Juventus appears uncertain currently, and he has attracted attention from various clubs across Europe.

The Blues are among those interested in the striker, and according to information from football.london earlier this week, he could be considered as an option for the club later in the transfer window.

At the moment, Chelsea is reportedly prioritizing other targets, but the potential acquisition of a new striker remains a possibility for a later stage.

The club has already made signings in the form of Christopher Nkunku, who can play as a No.9, and Nicolas Jackson, a dedicated central striker, earlier this summer.

How could Chelsea lineup their attack?

Mauricio Pochettino is yet to manage a game as Chelsea’s head coach, but that is set to change in the upcoming pre-season friendly against Wrexham in America. Pochettino started his role last week and will take charge of the team for the first time during this match.

One area of interest will be Pochettino’s lineup, particularly in the attack. Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke are expected to have significant roles in the club’s upcoming season, especially after several players have departed. Both players arrived in the January transfer window with high expectations.

However, if Rayan Cherki is signed, it could potentially affect the playing time of one of them in what is considered Chelsea’s strongest starting eleven. The versatility of Christopher Nkunku, who can play in various positions across the front line, will be advantageous for Pochettino when selecting his team. Certainly, Chelsea currently do not possess both Cherki and Vlahovic as part of their squad. However, it has been reported by football.london that Chelsea is highly committed to pursuing Cherki and is contemplating the idea of presenting a formal proposal to Lyon within the next few days.

It is believed that Cherki himself is willing to relocate to Stamford Bridge. His agents have engaged in detailed discussions with Chelsea in recent days to explore possibilities regarding his future.
