Rio Ferdinand fires brutal Kylian Mbappe transfer warning to Arsenal

Rio Ferdinand, the renowned Manchester United icon, has stated that both Manchester United and Arsenal would struggle to secure a deal to acquire Kylian Mbappe, the superstar from Paris Saint-Germain, during the summer transfer window.

Mbappe’s contract with the Parc des Princes is nearing its final year, and he has made it clear that he has no intention of extending his contract with the Ligue 1 champions.

This has sparked speculation about which club he might join next, with Arsenal fans particularly hopeful that Mikel Arteta’s team could make a sensational move.

However, Ferdinand has expressed his opinion that he does not envision the French international playing for either the Emirates Stadium or Old Trafford.

Speaking about Mbappe’s future on his YouTube channel, the former England international said: “I don’t think he’s even gettable (for Manchester United) at the price they’re talking about for him.”

When asked about a potential move to Arsenal, he added: “You man (sic) can’t get him either! Arsenal can’t get him either. Don’t even start thinking and dreaming.

“It’s a good dream.” Arsenal famously went close to signing Mbappe back in the summer of 2017, before he eventually joined PSG instead.

“Yes, I met with Arsene Wenger, who is a great coach,” the talented youngster told the Telegraph six years ago.

“He has a great reputation here in France, he’s well-respected and knows how to develop young players. This was a real option for me.

“But, of course, Paris Saint-Germain was the main option. We weighed up the advantages and disadvantages of all the clubs but my family told me it had to be my decision and one I needed to make.

“It also had to be a long-term decision. So it was up to me and I decided to come here in order to develop.”
