Riyad Mahrez Agrees On A Move To Saudi

According to The Sun, Riyad Mahrez, the Manchester City player, has agreed to a £410,000-a-week transfer to Saudi Arabia. However, he does not plan to push for the move after winning three titles under Pep Guardiola’s guidance.

Al-Ahli contacted Mahrez last month and offered him a tempting contract, which he finds appealing as he believes it’s the right time for a fresh start.

Mahrez has already agreed to personal terms, but it is now up to Manchester City to decide his future, with Guardiola supposedly eager to keep him.

Under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, Riyad Mahrez, a talented winger from France, displayed exceptional skills at the Etihad Stadium.

Throughout the season, he made a significant impact by scoring 15 goals and providing 12 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions for Manchester City.

Mahrez’s consistency in the attacking third was evident through his average of 1.4 shots, 1.7 key passes, and 0.8 successful dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League.

Furthermore, his distribution in the opponent’s half was outstanding, with a pass success rate of 86.8% in league matches, as reported by Whoscored statistics.

Mahrez consistently displays his brilliance as a skilled and creative dribbler, posing a threat to defenders with his speed. He maintains a high level of productivity in the attacking third and rarely gives away possession easily in the opponent’s half.

While primarily deployed as a right-sided winger, Mahrez’s versatility allows him to excel in different positions, including as an attacking midfielder when needed.

Despite being 32 years old, Mahrez continues to perform at a high level, suggesting that he has a few more years of top-level football left in him.

However, increased competition within Manchester City’s attacking lineup has resulted in reduced playing time for the former Leicester City winger. Therefore, a potential departure from the Etihad Stadium could offer better prospects for Mahrez.

Losing Mahrez would be a significant blow for Manchester City. Therefore, it would be wise for Guardiola to keep him for another year, as he still has the potential to make a meaningful impact and provide valuable depth in the final third during the upcoming season.
